Job description

Position Summary

The Event Sales Manager is responsible for selling all aspects of events held within the Club, including university events, corporate events, social functions, weddings, and other market segments. The ideal candidate will develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.

This role offers an annual salary of $65,000-$85,000 and is bonus eligible.

Benefits for Full-Time roles: Health, Dental and Vision Insurance, 401(k) Savings Plan, 401(k) matching, and Paid Time Off (vacation days, sick days, and 11 holidays).

This position will remain open until August 8, 2025.

The Carolina Club is a social membership club located in the heart of Chapel Hill, steps away from Tar Heel sports action. We serve as a connecting point between Chapel Hill, Carrboro, and campus communities. Our mission is to create a vibrant, inclusive community where members connect, celebrate, and thrive. Responsibilities
  • Generate and execute a sales strategy to meet and exceed departmental revenue goals.
  • Sell all event functions, meeting with clients to determine needs, detail their event orders, and exceed expectations through detailed communication.
  • Network inside and outside the Club to obtain leads and build relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef and Food and Beverage Director to establish profitable and competitive event menus that meet clients' needs.
  • Partner with the Membership Department to promote private events, business opportunities, and prospective members.
  • Achieve and maintain company sales standards.
Qualifications
  • Outbound sales experience with a proven track record (preferably 3-5 years).
  • Catering/Events sales experience in relevant markets preferred.
  • Understanding of prospecting programs and event revenue generation.
  • Leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • High energy and outgoing personality.
  • Creativity, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.
  • Technical literacy including Microsoft Office, CRM, and Banquet Event Order software.
  • Team player able to foster relationships with Members, Employees, and community leaders. Undergraduate degree preferred.
