Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required with two years related experience; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Considerable knowledge of event planning, coordination, and operational management practices.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; strong organizational abilities.
• Proficiency in standard office software, scheduling systems, spreadsheets, and related technology.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate departmental special events and activities.
• Coordinate site layouts, equipment needs, setup/breakdown, parking, accessibility, and utilities.
• Maintain inventories of equipment and supplies; coordinate procurement and maintenance.
• Recruit, schedule, train, supervise, and evaluate part-time staff and volunteers.
• Coordinate vendors, entertainers, exhibitors, and contractors; manage documentation and agreements.
• Assist with public relations, community outreach, and event participation efforts.
• Support planning and evaluation of recreation programs and facility operations.
