Job summary

American Public Health Association in Washington, DC, is seeking a logistics-focused coordinator to manage catering, AV, housing, and event workflows for the Annual Meeting and National Public Health Week. The role partners with the Senior Manager, Event and Program Operations to ensure accurate staffing and scheduling across events.

The position requires a Bachelor’s in Event Management or Hospitality (or 3–5 years of large event planning).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Event Management or Hospitality preferred; 3–5 years of large event planning experience welcome.
  • Strong customer service, interpersonal, and organizational skills required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products; ability to learn new technology quickly.

Responsibilities

  • Cater, audio-visual and general event logistics for the Annual Meeting and National Public Health Week.
  • Coordinate housing staff schedules and logistics with Senior Manager, Event and Program Operations.
  • Manage food and beverage orders for events during the annual meeting and review Master Billed orders.
