About the Daniels Fund

The Daniels Fund, established by cable television pioneer Bill Daniels, is a private charitable foundation dedicated to making life better for the people of Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming through its grants program, scholarship program, and ethics initiative.

The Opportunity - On-site in Denver

The Event Operations Manager keeps the people, processes, and systems running accurately, on time, and to the standard of excellence Bill Daniels set. How the Fund hosts people — guests, scholars, grantees, and board members — is the most visible expression of his values, and this role shapes that experience firsthand. The Event Operations Manager curates events with excellence and builds the workflows that make the next event better than the last. The right person brings administrative rigor, process discipline, discretion, and technology fluency to keep details accurate, systems current, and logistics seamless, so that everyone who walks into a Daniels Fund event feels the care behind every detail.

The Role

The Event Operations Manager will:

Event Execution

  • Manage the project plan for every Daniels Fund event — timelines, owners, deadlines, and run of show — from concept through follow-up, so nothing falls through the cracks.
  • Keep leadership, colleagues, vendors, and guests ahead of the work with clear, timely communication on status, changes, and next steps.
  • Support on-site operations, including setup, coordination, and troubleshooting, so that every guest experiences a welcoming, seamless event.
  • Source and coordinate with vendors, venues, and service providers.
  • Coordinate travel logistics for guests, speakers, staff, and senior leadership.
  • Continuously improve how events are executed – streamlining workflows, documenting repeatable processes, and removing the friction that slows the team down.
  • Build operational capacity so the Fund can do more: as the systems get stronger, help grow what the events program is able to make possible.

Systems, Data, and Records

  • Maintain accurate attendee and contact records, and lead database management and clean-up efforts that protect data integrity and reporting accuracy.
  • Serve as the internal lead for the Fund's event technology platform, supporting implementation, configuration, and day-to-day use.

Guest Experience and Communications

  • Produce and manage event invitations, RSVPs, and related guest communications.
  • Maintain mailing lists and coordinate the distribution of communications.
  • Prepare, organize, and distribute materials and related communications.
  • Source, purchase, and prepare gifts and recognition items that reflect the Fund's hospitality.

Administrative Operations

  • Process and reconcile expenses, providing regular and accurate financial tracking.
  • Maintain inventory and coordinate logistics for materials to and from events.
  • Provide general administrative support across the team and flexible support for senior leadership as needs arise.
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned, including evening, weekend, and travel commitments.
The Person

You are mission-oriented and values aligned. You have a passionate commitment to Bill Daniels’ mission and values and a genuine eagerness to reflect his thinking in your day-to-day work. You understand the importance of the foundation always adhering to Bill Daniels’ principles, style, and direction, and you value and respect the Fund’s uniqueness, reputation, and impact.

You are highly organized and detail-driven. You thrive on turning plans into flawless execution, tracking many moving pieces at once without losing accuracy. You are determined to meet deadlines and adjust quickly to changing priorities or last‑minute challenges.

You are process- and systems-minded, and energized by finding a better way. You see a clunky workflow as an opportunity rather than an annoyance, and you get real satisfaction from fixing it. You are comfortable learning and administering technology platforms and you look for ways to make workflows more accurate, efficient, and repeatable.

You demonstrate a high level of excellence. Bill Daniels set a high bar for how things are done, and you hold that bar whether or not anyone is watching. You always represent yourself and your organization in a professional and competent manner. You pay close attention to detail and hold yourself to a high standard of accuracy in everything from expense tracking to database records.

You bring genuine hospitality. You look for the small, intentional moments that make an experience memorable, and you build them in on purpose rather than hoping they happen. You care as much about how the work gets done as whether it gets done.

You handle sensitive information with discretion and sound judgment. You bring the professionalism, polish, and confidentiality expected when supporting senior leadership, board members, and external stakeholders.

You are agile and stay calm under pressure. You have the ability to juggle multiple tasks and transition effectively from one to another quickly. You handle surprises and high‑stakes moments with calm and confidence.

You are an excellent communicator and collaborator. You use clear and concise language that reflects the context in which you are communicating. You have strong written and verbal communication skills, whether working one‑on‑one or coordinating across teams.

You are tenacious and resourceful. You are willing to do whatever is needed to keep our systems, records, and logistics running smoothly. You anticipate the needs of others and demonstrate emotional maturity and personal accountability.

There is no explicit requirement for years of experience. We are looking for the right person to grow within our foundation and team.

Compensation and Benefits

The total compensation for this position will be in the range of $85,000 to $115,000 and is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Daniels Fund offers a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, paid holidays, health, dental, vision insurance, long‑term disability, life insurance, a matched 401k retirement plan and a host of additional benefits.

Equal Employment Opportunity

The Daniels Fund is an equal employment opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to age, race, sex, color, religion, national origin, disability, military status, genetic information, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, citizenship or any other status protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
