Job summary

Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards is seeking an experienced Assistant Event Manager to support the leadership and day-to-day operation of our events department. You will partner with the Event Manager to oversee weddings, private events, and other property events, ensuring seamless execution and superior guest experiences.

Responsibilities include supervising event staff, coordinating across culinary, sales, bar, and operations, and helping optimize labor and costs.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of event, hospitality, restaurant, or related operational leadership experience.
• Experience supervising and developing employees.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and working knowledge of event service and operations.
• Professional, calm, and solutions-oriented when handling guest or operational concerns.

Responsibilities

• Oversee event operations, lead events, and provide management support during complex or high-volume occasions.
• Coordinate with culinary, sales, bar, and other departments to ensure event details are executed consistently.
• Review BEOs, staffing plans, timelines, and event details to prep the operations team.
• Recruiting, onboarding, and training event staff; coach and develop team.
• Monitor labor hours and staffing costs; reconcile event labor and operational costs for reporting.
• Maintain event standards across spaces, service stations, and guest areas.
