MCCNO in New Orleans seeks an experienced Event Coordinator to manage staging for events at a convention center or large venue.
You will coordinate with clients and contractors, ensure adherence to safety and facility policies, and keep all plans and schedules up to date in our Event Management System. Flexibility to work nights/weekends as needed is required.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Maintain a high level of communication with clients and provide them with all necessary information relative to the staging of their events.
Obtain, organize, and interpret detailed requirements and schedules from clients and contractors to ensure all MCCNO departments have the necessary information to successfully and efficiently execute the event.
Coordinate work flow and monitor in-house activities by interfacing with clients and contractors and directing the activities of the MCCNO staff.
Check all lease space to ensure that all client and contractor equipment is removed by the end of the contracted period.
Participate in industry-related trainings and events and stay current with industry trends to make recommendations in response to changes in the industry.
Other Skills and Abilities
Bachelors or better.
Three to five years related experience and/or training in event coordination in a convention center, large hotel, or other large meeting facility; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
