Job summary

Pyramid Global Hospitality seeks an Event Manager for the Clearwater Beach Marriott Suites on Sand Key, FL. This role leads event planning, coordinates with sales, banquet, and operations, and delivers exceptional guest experiences in a fast-paced environment.

You will manage menus, AV needs, and floor plans, while building strong client relationships and maximizing revenue opportunities. On-site role with flexible hours and weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate meetings and events to maximize banquet space and revenue.
• Work with operations and food & beverage teams to meet client needs and solve issues.
• Assist clients in selecting menus and AV needs, using upsell techniques to maximize revenue.
• Monitor group room blocks and event progress from start to finish.
• Create event floor plans with Social Tables and ensure client agreement.
• Act as host for group arrivals and support guests during their stay.
• Ensure venues meet client specifications and quality standards.
• Document event details using Marriott CI/TY system and generate BEOs and forecasts.
• Participate in daily/weekly sales and planning meetings and related trainings.
• Maintain positive collaboration with hotel departments for optimal performance.
• Adhere to SOPs and company policies and bring readiness for site visits.

What You Will Have An Opportunity To Do

We are looking for an Event Manager to join our team! The Event Manager is a leader who is knowledgeable and passionate about the event industry and self-driven to perform in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. Our Event Manager plans and coordinates meetings, while maximizing the banquet space to meet and exceed catering revenue goals. We are looking for someone who is proactive, highly ambitious and detail-oriented, and of course, has a natural knack for building solid relationships and delivering excellent communication.

• Excellent relationship-building and negotiating skills, exceptional follow-through, strong organizational and time-management skills are required
• Works closely with property operations and food and beverage teams to better meet the needs of our clients throughout the sales and event planning process with ability to quickly problem solve and develop alternatives when an event issue arises
• Assists client in the selection of food and beverage menu and audio-visual needs using upselling techniques to maximize revenue
• Monitor group room blocks and pick up throughout the event planning process
• Create event floor plans with Social Tables platform to ensure banquet and client agree prior to set-up
• Serves as host to group upon arrival (flexible schedule including nights and weekends is required) and is available to assist with any client needs that may arise during their stay
• Inspects meeting and event room set-up to ensure compliance with client specifications
• Utilize Marriott’s CI/TY system to set activity traces for follow-up, create banquet event orders BEOs, group resumes, and event forecasts
• Participate in daily business review, weekly sales meeting, weekly BEO and resume meeting, training and other sales related meetings; and facilitates pre/post-con meetings as required
• Exhibit a positive and involved team attitude towards all hotel departments and maintain open communication with co-workers for the best overall performance of the hotel
• Adheres to all work rules, SOP’s, and policies established by the company, including but not limited to those contained in the Employee handbook
• Must have own reliable transportation and possess a valid state driver's license to make sales calls when necessary
• This role is located on-property at Clearwater Beach Marriott Resort on Sand Key
• Sales office hours are Monday through Friday, 8am-5:30pm and the Event Manager schedule varies
• Flexibility required for site visits outside of regular business hours, pre/post-con meetings, Chamber or other related events that may take place during nights/weekends
