Job summary

Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club in Durham, NC is seeking a dedicated Event Houseperson to support banquet operations and ensure spaces are clean, organized, and guest-ready for events.

Ideal candidates have event or Food & Beverage experience, can lift up to 65 pounds, and work with attentiveness to cues and safety. Proficiency in English is required to coordinate with team members and guests on site.

Qualifications

• Event houseperson or related experience is a plus.
• Prior Food & Beverage experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 65 pounds.
• Developed English skills.
• Attentiveness to visual and audible cues.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet rooms, hallways, storage, and service areas.
• Assist with the setup, turnover and breakdown of events to include stripping the room of all furniture and resetting the room as outline in the Banquet Event Order.
• Refresh meeting rooms as needed.
• Periodically clean meeting and event rooms.
• Properly care for, move, and store equipment such as tables, chairs, risers, dance floors, lecterns, and other room supplies.
• Brew beverages as directed by the event captain.
• Break down the trays of dirty dishes, glasses and silverware coming from the functions.
• Assists all banquet staff and other departments in producing efficiently run events.
