Job description

Event Experience Host (Part-Time) | Gevity, Austin TX

Gevity is Austin's private wellness workspace and social club, where coworking, fitness, recovery, and community live under one roof. We built this for founders, executives, and ambitious people who believe success shouldn't cost you your health. Come for a workout, stay for the workday, take a call, take a plunge, meet someone worth knowing. Build a life you don't need to recover from.

Events are where our community actually comes alive. We don't run a lot of them, but the ones we run, we run well: wellness rituals, hands-on workshops, happy hours, member-led talks, and hospitality moments people remember. That standard doesn't happen by accident. It happens because someone owns the room.

What you'll actually be doing:

You're the person on the ground making sure events run seamlessly, even when our Events & Member Experience Manager isn't in the room.

  • Arrive early and set the space: seating, AV, food and drink stations, the small touches (candles, runners, centerpieces) that make it feel intentional
  • Greet members and guests, keep the run-of-show on track, be the point person when something needs adjusting
  • Coordinate with vendors and practitioners on-site (bartenders, musicians, instructors)
  • Handle teardown and reset the space for the next day

Before the event

  • Help confirm supplies, food, and drink orders
  • Test AV and tech ahead of talks and workshops
  • Pull together guest lists for front desk check-in

After the event

  • Capture photos/content for our shared album
  • Send post-event feedback forms and log responses
  • Clear event graphics from our in-club screens
  • Log supply and expense details

Ongoing

  • Help with recurring events and hospitality "trolley" activations a couple times a month
  • Keep event trackers and tools current
The schedule, read this part:

This is not a 9-to-5. Hours are tied to our event calendar, mostly evenings and weekends, some daytime. You'll share your availability in advance (we finalize each month's calendar around the 15th of the prior month), and once you're confirmed for an event, we're counting on you to show up, on time, start to finish. Reliability matters more than volume.

What we're looking for:
  • A warm, hospitality-first personality, someone who reads a room well
  • Dependable and punctual, with real follow-through
  • Organized and calm under pressure, good at solving small problems on the fly
  • Physically able to handle setup and teardown
  • Clear, friendly communicator with staff, vendors, and members
  • Available evenings and weekends, based in Austin with reliable transportation
Nice to have
  • Background in events, hospitality, service, or community management
  • Comfort with everyday tools (we'll train you on PeopleVine, Notion, Slack, Canva, Kitcast, Google Forms)
  • An eye for detail that matches a high-touch, intentional brand
  • $15/hour, part-time, W-2
  • In-person at Gevity Austin, plus occasional partner venues
  • A Gevity membership included
  • Real growth path: this role is built to grow into a full-time position as our events calendar expands
