Job summary

Olympia Entertainment in Detroit is seeking a skilled Journeyman Electrician to implement and monitor preventative maintenance on electrical systems, lighting, and event-related power for a state-of-the-art sports and entertainment facility.

The role involves installing, repairing, and testing electrical lines and equipment, ensuring NEC compliance, reading blueprints, and coordinating with staff and contractors. Must be on-call 24/7 and able to work extended hours during events.

Qualifications

• Valid Journeyman Electrician license and 5 years of electrician experience.
• Thorough knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC).
• Experience in general facility maintenance and ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Proficient diagnostic and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with DTE representatives. Install, maintain and repair all electrical systems.
• Ensure all electrical systems including repair and/or construction electrical work is completed in accordance with NEC and local codes.
• Determine root causes of electrical failures and perform repairs using appropriate tools.
• Perform routine maintenance on specific electrical equipment.
• Conduct tests and inspections; evaluate performance and correct problems before breakdown.
• Facilitate electrical requirements for events and coordinate with staff.
• Install temporary event service requirements ensuring regulatory code compliance.
• Install, modify, repair, load and test electrical lines and equipment.
• Assist in developing standard operating procedures.
• Coordinate connections/disconnections to avoid damage and interruptions.
• Maintain a safe work environment and inform staff of schedules and orders.
• Utilize maintenance software to prioritize work orders and execute them timely.
