Job summary

Obsidian in Charlotte, NC seeks a senior sector PM or lead equity analyst to own event-driven research. You will map suppliers, customers and competitors from primary filings and industry data to identify related companies before catalysts and estimate the impact on revenue, margins or valuation.

This role requires deep industry knowledge, typically 8+ years of direct experience, and the discipline to judge with a fixed-cutoff mindset, without hindsight, to produce robust, forward-looking

Qualifications

• Senior sector PM, lead equity analyst, or event-driven investor with deep industry knowledge.
• Hands-on experience mapping a company's economic network from primary filings, not screens or third-party tags.
• Typically 8+ years of direct experience, or unusually strong evidence of equivalent performance.

Responsibilities

• Map suppliers, customers, competitors, distributors, substitutes and geographic exposure from filings and data.
• Identify related companies ahead of an event and separate direct exposure from weak thematic correlation.
• Estimate direction, magnitude, horizon and confidence, and name the revenue, margin, earnings or valuation mechanism behind each.
• Review model-generated analyses and grade them against your own standard.
