Job summary

KQED in San Francisco is seeking an On-Call Custodial/Event Staff to maintain cleanliness and support events in our facilities. This role involves custodial duties, setup, and assisting during functions in a fast-paced environment.

You will work in our newly renovated headquarters, prioritizing safety, reliability, and teamwork. A high school diploma and prior custodial or event-support experience are preferred; lifting and standing for extended periods are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training is a plus.
• Experience in custodial services, event support, or a related field.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and materials.
• Strong communication and professionalism.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Physical stamina to lift heavy objects and perform repetitive tasks.

Responsibilities

• Custodial Duties: cleaning, trash removal, stock replenishment, and inventory reporting.
• Event Support: setup/breakdown, room monitoring, and coordinating with organizers.
• Facility Maintenance: inspect areas and report repairs or safety hazards.
• Safety and Compliance: follow procedures and security protocols.
