Job summary

The University of Missouri-Columbia seeks an Event Coordinator in the College of Arts & Sciences to develop and execute programs that elevate campus engagement and the Concert Series' visibility. You will manage logistics, coordinate with artists, agents, vendors, and caterers, and oversee on-site coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with coordination of all logistical aspects of performing arts events, including artist hospitality, catering selection, and venue coordination
  • Manage contracts, insurance, and compliance requirements in coordination with campus partners
  • Develop event production timelines, load-in/load-out schedules, and staffing plans
  • Maintain budget tracking and reconcile post-event expenses
  • Support academic programs and college-hosted events as needed
  • Plan and coordinate public and campus engagement events, including concerts, lectures, workshops, and special programming
  • Serve as liaison to performers, campus partners, vendors, and community stakeholders to ensure smooth event execution
  • Manage program scheduling, space reservations, contracts, and vendor arrangements
  • Develop outreach initiatives to increase audience engagement, including partnerships with campus groups and local schools
  • Assist in the development of event-related communications and promotional materials in partnership with the Marketing Associate
  • Provide on-site event coordination, including supervision of volunteers and student staff

Job Description

The Event Coordinator plays a critical role in developing and executing programs and events that support the College of Arts & Science. This role manages operational needs, coordinates with artists, agents, vendors, and caterers to ensure the seamless delivery of events. The Event Coordinator manages event logistics, coordinates outreach efforts, and fosters community and campus engagement opportunities to elevate the College of Arts & Science and the Concert Series' visibility and impact.

Key Responsibilities:

Shift

Office hours, Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Evenings and weekends based on event schedule.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

  • Strong project management skills

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary: $24.00 - $26.44 per hour

Grade: GGS - 008

This is an in-person position located on the University of Missouri-Columbia campus. Candidates must be residents of the state of Missouri or willing to relocate prior to the hire date.
