Job Description
Position Overview

This position is critical to maintaining continuity in alumni engagement, foundation operations, volunteer leadership support, and fundraising coordination for CAFNR with its strategic partners, specifically its alumni and industrial allies. The Coordinator of External Partnerships will provide dedicated leadership and operational management for both the CAFNR Alumni Association and the CAFNR Foundation.

Key Responsibilities
  • 1. Manage CAFNR Alumni Association
    • Manage alumni board, including recruitment
    • Plan and implement alumni events - CAFNR Unlimited, CAFNR Golf Classic, CAFNR Alumni Awards, Homecoming Parade Watch Party
    • Build alumni, friends and potential donor relationships
    • Manage & Plan alumni board meetings
    • Manage budgets, membership activities and campus resources
    • Coordinate with Central Advancement on annual giving programs
    • Manage student interns
  • 2. Manage CAFNR Foundation
    • Manage a stakeholder foundation board - will work with CAFNR Foundation volunteer leaders and volunteer board
    • Plan and manage board meetings, including minutes of meetings - plan, manage prep for annual meeting, special meetings and on communications with CAFNR Foundation
    • Will coordinate and consult with the CAFNR Deans to provide updates on work and offer recommendations of the CAFNR Foundation, including reporting to the Executive Director of Advancement.
    • Plan events for the board as needed
    • Work with advancement office on coordinated fundraising initiatives
    • Manage budgets and grow memberships

Shift

Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm with some occasional events

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

A minimum of five years of experience in event planning, including experience working with volunteer boards and other stakeholder groups.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $55,000-63,750 Per Year

Grade: GGS 010

  • Retirement - UM will match 100% of up to 8% of eligible pay contributed to a 457(b), with a three-year vesting period on University contributions.
  • Tuition Assistance - Up to 75% of tuition and supplemental fees waived for employees, and 50% waived for spouses and dependents
  • Time Off - Personal time off (PTO) as well as 10 paid holidays.
  • Winter Break - The university observes a paid holiday for the period between Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
