Job summary

Verda Health Plan of Texas is seeking an Event Coordinator to join our in-office team in Carrollton, TX. You will provide customer service to members and seniors, represent Verda in the community, and support marketing-related activities.

The role reports to the Marketing Director and requires 1–2 years in event planning, strong communication, and bilingual capability. In-office schedule with occasional travel for trainings may apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Business, Marketing or Communications, or equivalent experience.
• 1–2 years hands-on professional experience with event planning & coordination.
• Minimum of one year of customer service experience.
• Bilingual in English and a second language (Chinese, Vietnamese or Spanish preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service for the Community Center or office.
• Provide in-language support for members regarding their benefits and accessing care.
• Act as a Medicare Advisor with in-language support to community members with questions about their Medicare options.
• Schedule and coordinate health events held at the community centers; manage logistics and planning.
• Communicate and coordinate general building repairs with Facilities Manager/Department.

Position Overview

The Event Coordinator will be based at the Verda Health Plan of Texas - Dallas Community Centers or office and will provide customer service to Verda Health Plan of Texas members and seniors in the community. This person will represent Verda in the community and will develop and maintain the company’s reputation. The position will be customer-facing with some marketing responsibilities. The representative will be motivated by Verda Health Plan of Texas’s mission to deliver culturally sensitive healthcare solutions to seniors in our community.

This position reports to the Marketing Director.

Responsibilities:

• Provide excellent customer service for the Community Center or office.
• Provide in-language support for members regarding their benefits and accessing care.
• Act as a Medicare Advisor with in-language support to community members with questions about their Medicare options.
• Schedule and coordinate health events held at the community centers. This includes logistic and planning efforts.
• Responsible for communicating and coordinating general building repairs with Facilities Manager/Department.
• Maintain a proper inventory of equipment, center supplies and promotional/marketing items.
• Track and monitor traffic flow and utilization of services.
• Perform routine inspections to ensure equipment is working properly for quality assurance purposes.
• Responsible for managing the use of space to host meetings and programs while ensuring safety and cleanliness.
• Identify and develop programs and activities that bring value and interest to the center by working closely with the community, Field Engagement and Sales team.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Hours of operations: 9am - 6pm
• Standard business hours Monday to Friday/weekends as needed
• Occasional travel may be required for meetings and training sessions.

• Reliably commute to the required office location or planning to relocate before starting work.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Regularly sit/walk at a workstation in an office or cubicle setting. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25-50 pounds.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Business, Marketing or Communications, or equivalent experience.
• Must have 1-2 years of hands-on professional experience with event or activity planning & coordination.
• Minimum of one (1) year of customer service experience.
• Bilingual in English and a second language required, preferably in Chinese, Vietnamese or Spanish.
• Experience working with an ethnically diverse population.
• Experience working at a health plan, healthcare, non-profit organizations, or senior community preferred.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in marketing preferred.
