Job summary

Trolley Hospitality Companies, Richmond-based, is seeking an experienced Event Captain to oversee catering events and lead a hospitality team. You will transport food and equipment, manage setup, service, and teardown, and adapt to venue requirements while coordinating with the host.

The role requires leadership, strong communication, and a flexible schedule including nights and weekends. Experience in catering and team management is essential.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of catering or banquet service experience.
• Experience leading a team, whether in food service or other industry.
• Excellent communication ability, both verbal and written.
• Positive and empowering interpersonal skills.
• Physical stamina to work long hours (must be able to lift 50 pounds).
• Covid-19 vaccination preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the safe transport of food, drinks, and equipment to event venue.
• Manage all aspects of the event including set‑up, serving meals and beverages, and take‑down.
• Carry out the Sales Event Coordinator's plan for the event and be able to adapt to different venues when determining how to set up and organize service flow.
• Lead a team of co‑captains, servers, and bartenders.
• Maintain good communication with the event host.
• Be resourceful and proactive in dealing with issues that may arise.
• Create an environment that supports and develops the members of your team.
• Be able to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
