Job summary

McCalls Catering & Events is seeking an experienced bartender to join our events team across the San Francisco Bay Area. You will deliver high-energy beverage service, create a welcoming atmosphere, and handle a variety of event formats from weddings to corporate functions.

Responsibilities include setting up bars, preparing drinks, serving customers, and maintaining safety and quality across shifts. A valid licence, reliable transport, and weekend availability are required.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years’ bartending experience and strong cocktail knowledge.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Professional appearance and ability to work under pressure.
• Confidence working independently and in a team.
• Flexible to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and early mornings.
• Valid driving licence and reliable transport.
• Know-how of food & beverage health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Set up, stock, run, and break down event bars.
• Prepare and serve beer, wine, cocktails, and non-alcoholic drinks.
• Follow drink recipes and portion guidelines accurately.
• Provide friendly and attentive customer service throughout events.
• Check guest identification where required.
• Operate POS systems and handle transactions correctly.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation behind the bar.
• Work closely with catering and events team to ensure smooth service.
• Follow all safety and liquor service procedures.
• Assist in other operational areas when needed.
