Job summary

322 Hospitality Group is seeking a bar-focused professional to prepare cocktails, greet guests, and oversee service in a fast-paced setting. You will mix drinks, upsell beverages, and ensure accurate order entry and payment processing at the bar. Maintain bar cleanliness and assist servers during dinner service as needed.

Applicants should have 2–3 years in a high-volume environment, strong communication skills, and knowledge of food safety regulations. Night and weekend availability is required.

Job Description

This position performs bar service activities with primary responsibility mixing and serving alcoholic and non‑alcoholic drinks, serving food and beverages to patrons in a friendly and courteous manner, monitoring guest alcohol consumption. The role sets, stocks and breaks down bars, maintains accurate counts and collects payment for all food and beverages served.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provides positive guest recognition and relations through personal performance and attention to guest history, including familiarizing himself/herself with regular patrons and VIP guests.
  • Greets guests in a timely and professional manner, takes guests’ orders and serves food and beverages according to the standards and established service sequence.
  • Responds to guest questions and provides suggestions regarding beverages with an aggressive approach to upselling.
  • Performs flair while preparing cocktails and other drinks and builds guest relations with patrons seated at the bar.
  • Arranges bottles, glasses, and packaged snacks to make attractive displays. Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails and other drinks to standard. Serves wine, liquor, and bottled beer to standard pour and to departmental specifications.
  • Slices and pits fruit for garnishing drinks to standard.
  • Wash all bar and glassware.
  • Monitors and observes guests’ experience to respond to additional needs or requests.
  • Assists servers during dinner service to expedite table service.
  • Enters orders into point-of-sale system, maintains accurate guests over counts, totals receipts correctly, verifies sales and collects payment for all food and beverages served.
  • Thoroughly knowledgeable on the menu, various daily specials, and beverages.
  • Ensures the cleanliness and organization of designated work areas. Stocks and maintains supplies, refrigerators, dispensers and/or display cases ensuring no interruption in guest service. Completes set up and break down duties to departmental standards. Sweeps and mops floors.
  • Requests proper identification from guests purchasing alcoholic beverages when legal age is questionable (under the age of 30). Consults with management on questionable identification.
  • Monitors guest alcohol consumption and does not over serve alcohol to intoxicated guests.
  • Maintains liquor security and control standards when mixing and preparing cocktails and other drinks to standard.
  • Washes workstation, walls, and refrigerators. Reorganizes work areas in preparation for the next shift.
  • Takes our trash and recycling. Cleans and maintains interior and exterior of trash areas. Sweeps and mops floors.
  • Complies with local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to food quality, cleanliness and sanitation standards, alcohol service and safety.
  • Attends required meetings, pre‑shift meetings and training sessions as assigned/scheduled.
  • Assists with new employee training by positively reinforcing successful performance and providing respectful and encouraging instruction.
  • Complies with the organization’s sustainability standards.
  • Complies with organization policies and job standards.
  • Completes all other duties as needed.
Preferred Minimum Requirements
  • At least 2-3 years related work experience in a high‑volume, high‑energy, food and beverage environment.
  • Availability to work nights and weekends as needed.
  • Working knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations related to food, safety, and sanitation.
  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time, walk, squat and reach. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. Employees must be able to talk and hear. Must have the ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
