Job summary

The University of Notre Dame is seeking a full-time Banquet Set-Up staff in the Hospitality department within the Operations, Events, and Safety division. This role focuses on preparing elegant banquet spaces for corporate events and wedding celebrations, ensuring all details meet guests’ expectations.

Key responsibilities include setting up rooms, gathering supplies, cleaning after events, and transporting food and equipment as needed.

Qualifications

• Capable of managing time effectively with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Ability to maintain a standing position for extended periods of time (up to 6 hours at a time).
• Ability to move, lift and handle equipment, supplies and other objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Setting up meeting rooms, dining rooms and public spaces with equipment and materials (tables, chairs, linens, A/V, bars, podium, dance floors).
• Gather supplies for banquet events and place in banquet room ahead of events.
• Empty trash from all function areas.
• Change linen and prepare areas for cleaning by linen company.
• Vacuuming, dusting and cleaning after functions in meeting rooms.
• Cleaning/mopping storerooms, pantry, ballroom hallway and other areas as directed.
• Transport food to banquet service areas and remove dishes to dish room timely.
• Store equipment and materials neatly and inventory as directed by Supervisor or Managers.
