Job summary

Montserrat is seeking Studio Monitors for the Digital Fabrication Studio to provide evening and weekend access and assistance to studio users. Successful monitors will help patrons operate 3D printers, CNC, lasers, and vinyl cutters, ensuring safety and proper use of all equipment.

Weekly hours are approximately 5, with potential day shifts based on student schedules. Responsibilities include sign-in/out oversight, equipment training for new users, and routine tool maintenance.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in customer service, teaching, or retail preferred.
• Comfortable enforcing rules and procedures among peers.
• Comfortable speaking about the studio and its projects to groups.
• Experience with Mac and PC is helpful; Illustrator is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow opening and closing procedures and oversee sign-in/out; update usage log.
• Assist patrons with lab equipment and train newcomers to 3D printing and vinyl cutting.
• Ensure safety protocols are followed by all patrons.
