LCMC Health is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join West Jefferson Medical Center in Louisiana. The role focuses on performing and reporting clinical laboratory testing, ensuring specimen integrity and adherence to safety protocols in a high‑quality hospital setting.

The position emphasizes meticulous data analysis, quality control, and collaboration with healthcare teams to support patient diagnosis and care during night shifts across the Louisiana community.

Qualifications

• Licensed by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners as CLG or CLS.
• Clinical laboratory generalist licensure required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure specimens received by the laboratory are acceptable for testing and prepare reagents as needed.
• Label, accession and distribute specimens maintaining patient identification integrity.
• Initiate orders for blood and/or blood components from the appropriate blood supplier.
• Follow hospital/laboratory safety and infection control policies and report variances.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain clinical laboratory instruments; troubleshoot as needed.
• Analyze quality control material and report results outside established limits.
• Perform gram stains and other wet/dry preparations for bacteriology and parasitology.
• Prepare blood components with aseptic technique and proper storage.
• Receive tissue specimens and preserve non-core samples; assist with bone marrow procedures.
