Job summary

Valley Youth House in Bethlehem seeks a full-time Youth Specialist to provide direct supervision, goal planning, and safety monitoring on the floor during evening hours. The role emphasizes trauma-informed, youth-centered approaches and active engagement with participants.

You will support daily living skills, academic and career planning, and mentoring, while documenting progress in Credible and attending required trainings.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older and able to identify with Shelter goals.
• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of experience working with adolescents.
• Basic cooking knowledge to teach life skills.
• Proficient in basic computer skills; familiarity with Google Suite.
• Must pass annual motor vehicle clearance.
• No history of prohibited criminal or child abuse offenses.

Responsibilities

• Provide 95% on-floor direct supervision, goal planning, and safety monitoring.
• Engage youth using trauma-informed, culturally appropriate frameworks.
• Support daily living activities including academics, housing, meals, and money management.
• Facilitate life skills groups and structured activities.
• Document client progress and notes in Credible.
• Attend required trainings and team meetings.
