Qualifications

  • Must be able to obtain CPR, AED and first aid certification.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors residents for changes in behavior and documents observations daily.
  • Operates and monitors electronic security and communication equipment.
  • Organizes and directs participation in group activities.
  • Assists teachers in classrooms and handles disciplinary matters; helps residents with homework.
  • Performs housekeeping tasks and meal distribution; supervises daily chores.
  • Makes referrals for medical attention and provides basic CPR and first aid as appropriate.
  • Acts as a positive role model and provides informal counseling to residents.
  • Leads small group sessions on topics like assertiveness, self-esteem, and related concepts.
  • Conducts intakes, screens for contraband, and assesses suicide/health risk; orients residents to policy.
  • Escorts residents and visitors during visitation; transports residents to medical facilities or appointments.
