Job summary

Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services is seeking a Youth Security Specialist II to provide residential care and supervision for adolescent males at Lincoln Regional Center - Whitehall. This role includes structured activities, safety enforcement, and collaboration with the behavioral health team.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with preferred coursework in social work or related fields and experience in youth care or juvenile services.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Coursework/training or experience in social work, counseling, human services or related areas preferred.
• Experience in child or youth care, teaching, foster care, juvenile services or related youth work preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise youth or small groups in activities and monitor progress.
• Assist with rehabilitative treatment and engage youth in programming to develop skills.
• Lead or participate in structured therapeutic groups and document behavior and progress.
• Participate in treatment planning and youth admission/discharge activities.
• Ensure safety and security by enforcing facility rules and responding to crises.
• Support staff in meetings and in implementing individual growth plans.
