FedEx Corporation in Minnesota is hiring for a yard switcher/package handler role. You will move trailers between yards and doors, and assist with loading and unloading packages by hand. The job includes following safety protocols and operating basic yard equipment.

You may perform pre- and post-trip inspections, document moves, and coordinate with central control to ensure efficient yard operations. This is a part-time position with variable shifts.

Competenze

• No formal education required.
• Up to 6 months of experience in package handling or switching preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a DOT file.
• Ability to read numbers and sort packages accurately.
• Ability to operate basic yard equipment safely.

Mansioni

• Moves trailers by hooking and moving parked trailers between yard and doors.
• Coordinates trailer movements with management or central control.
• Documents trailer moves using Yard Management System or switcher cards.
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Adheres to yard switching safety procedures.
• Handles packages by hand and loads/unloads onto vehicles or conveyor carts.
• Lifts and sorts packages, reading labels and charts to route them correctly.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
