Federal Express Corporation is seeking a yard switcher/package handler in Michigan. The role involves moving trailers from yard to doors, coordinating with central control, and performing package handling duties as needed.

You will inspect equipment, ensure safety protocols, and operate basic handling tools. The position requires no formal education and may start with minimal experience, though six months in a package handling or switching/CDL role is preferred.

Competenze

• None required.
• No experience required; six (6) months of experience as a package handler or switching/CDL operator experience preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a DOT file.
• Ability to understand and follow safety instructions and sort packages correctly.
• Ability to use basic tools and equipment listed in the job description.

Mansioni

• Move trailers between yard and doors or from yard to door.
• Coordinate trailer movements with management or central control.
• Document trailer moves using Yard Management System or switcher cards.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Handle packages by hand or with equipment as part of duties.
• Load and unload packages onto/from delivery vehicles and conveyors.
• Sort packages by scanning labels, reading numbers, and following charts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
