Job summary

Clay County High School Career and Technical Center is seeking a qualified Welding Instructor to teach an adults’ evening class, covering both theory and practical welding concepts. The instructor will provide demonstrations, monitor safety, and guide students through progress assessments.

The role is part-time and temporary, meeting two evenings a week for 12 weeks, with focus on hands-on welding in SMAW and GMAW processes, and maintaining a safe lab environment.

Qualifications

• Proven welding knowledge from training/experience.
• Experience with welding standards and procedures.
• AWS welder certification preferred.
• CWI/CWE is a plus.
• Teaching or training experience preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and ability to teach adult learners.

Responsibilities

• Teach welding techniques (SMAW, GMAW) to adults.
• Instruct safe practices in the welding lab.
• Provide hands-on demonstrations and guidance.
• Assess progress and give feedback.
• Maintain and operate welding lab safely.
