Responsibilities

• Conducts therapy sessions to improve clients’ mental and physical well-being
• Confers with treatment team to plan and evaluate therapy programs
• Develops treatment plan to meet client needs based on assessment, interests and objectives
• Encourages clients with special needs to acquire new skills and participate in life skills and leisure activities
• Instructs clients in activities such as sports, gardening, dance, music, art or relaxation techniques
• Observes, analyzes, and records clients’ participation and progress during sessions
• Obtains information from medical records, staff, families, and clients to assess needs
• Plans and directs treatment programs to facilitate rehabilitation and community integration
• Prepares and submits reports to reflect reactions and progress
