Job summary

Gilead Community Services is seeking a Recovery Assistant for our Middletown adult residential program to provide coaching, mentoring, advocacy, and supportive services.

The position requires availability Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM and Saturday 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM (32 hours/week, benefit eligible). The role includes teaching daily living skills, money management, and assisting with meals and transportation as needed, within a recovery-focused team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Understanding needs of clients with mental health and substance use disorders;
• Assisting with meal preparation, household chores, shopping, cleaning, laundry, and money management;
• Providing recovery-oriented services and educating clients on symptom management;
• Coordinating transportation to treatment, appointments, and outings;
• Collaborating with the treatment team to support clients’ mental health.

Education
