Job summary

PHMC's Substance Abuse Partial Hospitalization Program seeks a Peer Recovery Specialist to provide peer support for program participants. Evening and Saturday coverage required, with rotation among specialists.

Qualifications

• Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) certification or credential
• High school diploma or GED; some college preferred
• At least 1 year of experience with people with addiction and mental illness
• Ability to establish trusting, therapeutic relationships
• Valid driver’s license in good standing and ability to drive a large van

Responsibilities

• Attend daily staff meetings and share important participant information
• Implement recovery process per program goals
• Provide continuity of care per treatment plan
• Lead psycho-educational and self-help groups
• Engage participants by sharing personal recovery story
• Outreach at treatment facilities, in the community, and participant homes
• Transport participants to intake, appointments, and program activities
• Take participants to community self-help meetings (AA/NA)
• Advocate and resource during recovery planning meetings
• Assist with discharge planning and post-discharge contact
• Re-engage participants in treatment when needed
• Alert clinical team to behavioral/health concerns
• Meet or exceed daily census and productivity requirements
