Job summary

Sarah Bush Lincoln is seeking an Observation Partner for the 3pm-11:30pm, part-time shift to support patient safety and well-being on the floor.

Observation Partners sit with and accompany patients as needed, assist with ambulation and meals, document observations, and communicate needs to the care team. The role requires reliability and a commitment to monthly availability of 48 hours, including weekend hours.

Qualifications

• Assist patients with ambulation needs, which may require the use of a gait belt.
• Assist patients with meals/feeding needs.
• Committed to work availability of 48 hours per month, 12 hours of which is on Saturday or Sunday.
• Documents basic patient observations.
• Notifies appropriate patient care provider of the need for patient assistance.
• Performs walking rounds continuously to assure safety and well-being of patients.
• Sits with and/or accompanies patient continuously to assure safety and well-being.
