Lindbergh Early Childhood Education in St. Louis, MO is seeking a part-time Parent Educator to support the Parents as Teachers program.

This 12-month, non-exempt position offers 17-25 hours per week with an hourly starting rate of $29.62, and requires Missouri Certification: Parent Educator. The role involves visiting families in evenings and on weekends, maintaining PAT records, delivering home visits, screening supports, creating home learning activities, and coordinating with local agencies

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education or Child Development; ability to work with young children and parents.
• Two year associate degree or two year certificate in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or Nursing; ability to work with families.
• Parents as Teachers training will be completed after start date (40 hours, one week).

Responsibilities

• Maintains PAT records for each family served.
• Provides personal visits for families at designated locations.
• Assists in screening for children birth to kindergarten; summarizes results for parents; refers concerns; completes referral forms; guides parents in behavior, development, and learning activities.
• Develops individual lessons to help parents implement home activities.
• Observes and assesses child development during visits; notes results.
• Plans and conducts group connections; uses materials and handouts; evaluates attendance and participation.
• Administers ECDA approved screenings; keeps accurate records; coordinates with partners.
• Distributes recruitment information to local organizations; conducts outreach and events.
• Documents records in data software; updates family goals and resources; reports to supervisor.
• Participates in required PATNC trainings and LECE professional development.

Education

B.S. degree in Early Childhood Education / Child Development
