Job summary

Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board (H-NNCSB) is seeking a Full-Time Direct Care Professional (DSP) for the Southern Family Project (SEFP). You will provide daily support to women and families in residential treatment for substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions, helping create a safe, recovery-focused environment.

The role involves supervising residents, assisting with daily living tasks, and documenting progress.

Qualifications

• One year of direct care experience with adults and/or families with substance use and/or mental health needs.
• CNA certification a plus.
• Experience in residential treatment settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision and support in a residential treatment setting.
• Assist residents with daily living activities and household responsibilities.
• Encourage participation in recovery programming and life skills development.
• Observe and document client progress and safety concerns.
• Maintain confidential documentation.
• Promote a safe, therapeutic living environment.
• Collaborate with the treatment team to support client outcomes.
