Job summary

University of South Carolina Beaufort (Beaufort/Bluffton campus) seeks part-time Adjunct Research and Instruction Librarian to provide evening and weekend instruction, assist with research services, and manage LibGuides and Makerspace activities.

The role involves research, instruction, LibGuide development, interlibrary loan duties, and coordinating the Makerspace, with duties including creating educational materials and supporting library events.

Qualifications

Master’s in library science or a master’s degree in a closely related field with at least 18 graduate credit hours in library science.
Experience providing research and instruction in an academic library setting.
Experience overseeing student workers and library support staff is preferred.
Knowledge or experience with a Makerspace is preferred.
Previous interlibrary loan work experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Research, instruction, libguide development and management.
Interlibrary loan and Makerspace coordination and support.
Staff the research desk and monitor library mail accounts (researchhelp@uscb.edu, uscblibrary@uscb.edu).
Create library-specific educational materials including handouts, guides, brochures, and tutorials.
Participate in library events and provide tours when applicable.
