Job summary

Uxbridge Public Schools Whitin Intermediate School in Uxbridge, Massachusetts is seeking a Tutor - Virtual to provide direct instruction to a student outside the regular school day. The position involves up to 10 hours of virtual tutoring per week and may extend through the end of the school year.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
• Knowledge of instructional practices, subject matter, assessment practices and other information that is required in a particular assignment. Written, oral, interpersonal and technological skills that are appropriate to the assignment.
• Bachelor degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide virtual direct instruction to a student, likely outside of the school day.
• Confers with classroom teacher(s), counselor, social worker or other school personnel on the student's needs.
• Develops and completes instructional lessons.
• Provides the student and the family with supplementary instructional material as may be needed to reinforce lessons.
