Job summary

AoPS Academy's Lexington Campus in Waltham, MA is seeking part-time Teaching Assistants for a virtual role. The position runs Aug 31, 2026 to Jun 13, 2027, with Sunday-Thursday evenings 6:30 PM–8:30 PM ET; candidates must reside in MA and be able to commute for materials as needed.

Responsibilities include hosting office hours, tutoring sessions, grading feedback, and collaboration with instructors. Prior teaching experience is not required but helpful.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years old or older.
• Strong math and language arts skills with the ability to help students navigate advanced concepts.
• Ability to work well independently with little supervision.
• Experience with/interest in working with younger students strongly preferred.
• Exceptional written and spoken communication.
• Positive and encouraging attitude that helps students feel comfortable asking questions.
• Detail-oriented and organized.
• Familiarity with the AoPS curriculum is not required, but a plus.

Responsibilities

• Host weekly office hours and on-demand tutoring sessions for students.
• Work with students individually or in small groups.
• Provide exceptional feedback on graded assignments.
• Collaborate with instructors and full-time staff on student and classroom needs.
• Other duties as assigned.
