Job summary

University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health (UM UCH) is seeking a Unit Secretary for Med Surg Telemetry in the evenings (3:00 PM–11:30 PM). You will perform unit clerical duties, help maintain a clean and safe environment, and support the patient care team in delivering care with a focus on customer service.

Qualifications

• Education & Training: High school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Work Orientation & Experience: One (1) year of experience as a medical and/or customer service secretary preferred.
• Skills & Abilities: Ability to: a) manual finger dexterity with hand-eye coordination; b) basic computer skills and typing; c) convey effective verbal and written communications; d) follow directions; e) organize and manage decisions consistent with current policies, procedures and nursing standards; f) adapt hours of availability to variable and changing needs of the hospital, including all shifts; g) effectively function as a member of a collaborative team; h) respond to emergency situations appropriately.
