A high school diploma or GED is required, with 1–2 years of related experience preferred. The role supports phones, messages, and supplies management while ensuring smooth unit operations and staff coordination.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Answers phones, relays and dispatches messages to other staff or departments.
• Manages the central desk area of the nursing unit and directs staff, physicians and customers as needed.
• Assists in answering the patient call system and contacts the appropriate staff person.
• Orders supplies under the direction of the unit director.
• Maintains patient records, prepares admission and discharge charts per Medical Record protocol.
