Job summary

Advocate Health’s 24-bed general medicine unit in Winston-Salem, NC is seeking a Unit Secretary for the evening shift (1600-0130), every other weekend. This full-time clerical role supports nurses with scheduling, admissions and patient communications on a fast-paced ward.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, clerical experience, and strong computer and written communication skills. Competitive benefits accompany the position.

• Clerical experience preferred.
• Strong computer and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs clerical duties for patient scheduling, admissions, procedures, transfers, surgeries, discharges and deaths under RN direction.
• Handles and screens calls and transmits messages as necessary.
• Maintains confidential, accurate patient information and completes data entry and forms.
• Communicates effectively with team, patients and families.
• Supports unit operations and maintains organized, stress-resilient workflow.
