Job summary

Boston Medical Center in Brockton, MA is seeking a Part Time Unit Coordinator for its 82-bed behavioral health hospital. The role supports daily operations of the inpatient psychiatric unit, assisting with patient registration, intake requests, and communication with patients, staff and guests.

Responsibilities include coordinating tasks, maintaining daily flow, and ensuring confidentiality while working with interdepartmental teams.

Qualifications

• Education: HS Diploma or GED (required), Associates or Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
• Experience: One (1) year experience in a medical environment (preferred)
• Effectively manage various administrative tasks
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work both independently and within a team
• Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously
• Excellent interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Patient Registration
• Coordinate and prioritize tasks, maintaining daily flow of the unit in a complex, rapidly changing environment
• Communicate with staff, families, and other departments utilizing effective communication skills
• Effectively coordinate communications involving incoming calls and e-fax
• Gather intake information and patient records
• Review referrals and verify all information
• Assist with data collection and reporting that complies with local, State and Federal guidelines
• Maintain confidentiality of all patient care information to assure rights are protected
• Maintain a good working rapport with interdepartmental personnel, as well as other external referring agencies
• Other duties as requested by supervisor
