Job summary

Nordstrom, Inc. is seeking a Transportation Coordinator on the 2nd shift to manage inbound/outbound transport within the fulfillment center. You will coordinate trailer movements, schedule shipments, and work with carriers to keep freight moving on time.

The role requires 1–3 years in transportation or logistics, strong data-analysis and communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and YMS/TMS platforms. A team-focused, proactive approach is essential.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or fulfillment center operations.
• Working knowledge of yard management, transportation systems, and supply chain operations.
• Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
• Ability to analyze data and identify improvement opportunities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with YMS/TMS platforms.
• Adaptability to learn new tools quickly and deliver exceptional service while collaborating as a team player.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a key point of contact for carrier communication, escalating issues to the Transportation Manager when necessary.
• Coordinate with carriers, vendors, and internal teams to resolve discrepancies, delays, and operational issues to maintain workflow continuity.
• Assist with truck yard operations by monitoring trailer movements and ensuring timely processing.
• Track and report on transportation KPIs such as Yard-to-Empty, Late Ships, Late Inducts, and On-Time Performance.
• Support scheduling and shipment planning to maintain operational efficiency.
• Communicate with building departments to ensure alignment on processes and resolve day-to-day operational challenges.
• Participate in team meetings to review performance metrics and share updates.
• Demonstrate commitment to teamwork through relationship-building and collaboration.
