Job summary

Connect-Force is seeking a Transportation Dispatcher / Logistics Coordinator in Plymouth, Michigan, on-site. The role manages transportation loads from assignment to delivery, builds strong relationships with carriers, and resolves issues to keep deliveries on schedule.

You will work an afternoon/evening shift (1:00 PM–10:00 PM) with one weekend per month, contributing to a fast-paced logistics team. The ideal candidate will have experience in dispatching or logistics coordination, strong

Qualifications

• Previous experience in transportation dispatching, logistics coordination, freight brokerage, or carrier management is preferred.
• Experience working with trucking companies, professional drivers, or transportation providers is a plus.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to think quickly, make decisions, and solve problems under pressure.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Comfortable managing multiple shipments, priorities, and deadlines.
• Experience with transportation management systems (TMS), dispatching software, or load boards is beneficial.
• Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• A team-first attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Keep Operations Moving: Coordinate transportation loads from initial assignment through final delivery, ensuring everything runs efficiently.
• Build Strong Relationships: Work directly with professional drivers, transportation carriers, and internal teams to maintain positive working relationships.
• Be the Problem Solver: Identify potential delays, troubleshoot transportation challenges, and develop solutions before issues become bigger problems.
• Manage Daily Dispatch Operations: Assign loads, coordinate available transportation capacity, and ensure deliveries meet customer expectations.
• Stay One Step Ahead: Monitor shipments, provide accurate delivery updates, and proactively communicate changes.
• Work as a Team: Collaborate with account managers, operations personnel, and leadership to keep customers informed and satisfied.
• Make Smart Business Decisions: Balance transportation costs, service expectations, and profitability when coordinating shipments.
• Stay Organized: Maintain accurate records, update transportation management systems, and document important shipment information.
• Make an Impact: Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, strengthen carrier relationships, and contribute to overall operational success.
