Job summary

Abhs is seeking a Primary Therapist for evening contractor hours in Cathedral City, CA. The role focuses on facilitating structured groups and providing psychotherapy to support clients’ treatment goals in a collaborative team setting.

The candidate will conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and ensure quality documentation while working evenings and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
• Licensed in California as LMFT/LCSW/AMFT/ACS W or LPCC.
• Minimum two years’ experience in evaluating and/or treating mental illness and/or substance abuse.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and EHR systems.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate evening therapeutic groups on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
• Provide individual, group, and family therapy as needed.
• Collaborate with the treatment team and technicians to maintain a safe, supportive environment.
• Conduct admissions assessments and reassessments; perform mental status examinations.
• Develop weekly clinical schedule and attend related groups.
• Provide training to facility staff on clinical practices.
• Maintain documentation per program standards and comply with laws.
• Knowledge of 12-step recovery models and crisis intervention.
