Job summary

University Health is seeking a Therapeutic Support Specialist for the Crossroads Group Home in Kansas City, MO. The role supports adults with mental illness on an evening shift (Mon–Fri, 3:00 PM–11:30 PM) within a structured residential setting.

You will lead engaging activities, teach practical life skills, assist with outings and medication administration (training provided), and contribute to a recovery-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• CPR certification to be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• LIMA licensure required within 90 days of employment.
• Driver’s license and ability to operate a 15-passenger van.
• Family Care Registry background check required.
• Mandatory training completed during orientation and per leadership guidance.

Responsibilities

• Engage and connect with residents through meaningful activities.
• Teach life skills such as cooking, cleaning, symptom management, and problem-solving.
• Provide support with outings, medication administration training, and maintaining a recovery-focused environment.
