Job summary

Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, GA seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant to support professional nursing staff in caring for a specific patient population. Requires a High School Diploma or GED, 1 year acute patient care experience, and current CNA and BLS certifications.

Qualifications

• 1 year Acute Patient Care Experience required
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Basic Life Support (BLS) required

Responsibilities

• Assists professional nursing personnel in providing patient care to a specific patient population.
• Provides direct and indirect patient care duties under the guidance and direction of the Licensed Nurse.
• Participates in unit activities that enhance and promote quality patient care outcomes.
• PATIENT CARE RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs the technical functions necessary to enhance the effectiveness and quality of patient care.
• Receive assignment and assist in care of patient as directed. Check patient's vital signs and document with RN collaboration.
• Maintain Control Logs and restocking of refrigerators & Blanket Warmers. Restock patient rooms with clinical supplies.
• Assist RN with monitoring chart and chart audits to ensure proper forms are on chart.
• Cross train as secretary to order specimens, test disposition, and manage patient activity logs.
• Perform competency based activities: 12-lead EKG, Doppler Pulses, Foley care, ambulation, and patient transport.
