Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum education: high school; college education helpful but not required.
• At least 1 year of management experience in a retail environment.
• Ability to make critical decisions and provide effective leadership.
• Excellent communication skills to deal with customers and employees.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs. about 30% of the time.
• Ability to retrieve and place merchandise on top racks; up to 20% of shift.
• Operate pallet jack, step carts, and the “Big Joe”.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage all aspects of the store in the absence of the store manager.
• Ensure courteous customer service and proper handling of complaints/requests.
• Delegate duties efficiently to maximize performance and follow-up.
• Maintain a clean, orderly store and presentable merchandising.
• Maintain building and equipment for safety operations.
• Ensure freshness of products and proper merchandising for sales.
• Implement fire and safety programs as per Risk Management.
• Enforce security standards set by Loss Prevention.
• Greet customers and thank them for patronage.
• Conduct evening refrigeration checks and oversee store during evening hours.
• Adhere to company policies as stated in the Employee Handbook.
