Job summary

Redner's Markets in Chestertown, MD is seeking an Evening Manager to direct and supervise all store activities during evening hours in the absence of the store manager.

You will lead a team, ensure courteous customer service, oversee merchandising, safety, housekeeping, and inventory, and maintain secure operations aligned with company policies and loss prevention standards.

Candidates should have retail management experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirement of a high school education. A college education is helpful but not required.
• At least 1 year of management experience in a retail environment is required.
• Must possess the ability to make critical decisions and to provide effective leadership.
• Must possess excellent communication skills in order to deal with customers and other employees.
• Must be able to lift up to fifty pounds (50 lbs.) approximately thirty percent (30%) of the time.
• Must have the ability to retrieve and place merchandise on the top racks in the grocery aisles for proper storage. The top racking process may be 20% of the time working in the aisles during the shift.
• Must have the ability to operate a pallet jack, step carts, and the “Big Joe”.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise store operations during evening hours in the absence of the store manager.
• Ensure courteous customer service and proper handling of complaints/requests.
• Delegate duties effectively to maximize performance and follow-up.
• Maintain a clean, organized store environment.
• Oversee safety, security, and fire programs in collaboration with Risk Management and Loss Prevention.
• Greet customers and manage evening store tasks and merchandising.
• Communicate issues to the store manager and department managers.
