Job summary

Hannaford Supermarkets seeks an experienced Evening Operations Manager to lead store activities during the night shift. You will direct associates, maintain merchandising standards, and ensure safety and food safety compliance across the store.

You will build strong relationships with staff and customers, promote Hannaford culture, and use available tools to drive performance and financial objectives while safeguarding assets.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of store operations and total store merchandising techniques.
• Excellent interpersonal, customer service and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Demonstrated good judgement solving problems, making decisions, handling complaints, arbitrating disputes and resolving grievances.
• Desire and ability to lead and manage associates throughout multiple departments.
• Department Manager or equivalent experience required.
• College degree or equivalent preferred.
• Must be accredited by the National Registry of Food Safety Professionals or similar accrediting organization as a "Certified Food Safety Manager" or will be required to attend company provided training and have the ability to achieve accreditation within the first 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee evening operations and make decisions affecting store associates, merchandise quality and customer service.
• Build associate and customer relations and promote a strong culture in support of Hannaford Strategy through store huddles and consistent use of tools to manage performance.
• Ensure store conditions involving appearance, security, safety and food safety are maintained at the highest level.
• Accountable for proper control of company assets.
