Job summary

The University of Toledo is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician II for the Health Science Campus. The position supports setup, reprocessing, and care of patient-use equipment and instruments within the Sterile Processing department.

Qualifications

• Accredited high school diploma or equivalent.
• Sterile Processing certification through HSPA or CBSPD; maintain certification.
• CEU requirements per certifying body.
• Previous experience in Sterile Processing, Nursing or Surgery with infection control knowledge required.
• Basic computer competency.
• Willingness to learn surgical instruments, sterilization techniques, and decontamination.
• Understands cleaning products and IFUs used in SPD.

Responsibilities

• Reports to Operations Supervisor or Surgical Technician as required.
• Performs setup, reprocessing and care of patient-use equipment and surgical instruments.
• Performs inventory control functions related to supply areas.
