The role involves decontamination, instrument assembly, packaging, and maintaining quality assurance records while following infection control practices. The position supports 2pm-10:30pm shifts with weekend on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
• Must have mechanical aptitude with the ability to break down moving parts, clean, lubricate and reassemble, problem solve incomplete trays and missing instrumentation and have effective organizational, communication and human relation skills.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, assemble, and package surgical instruments per protocols.
• Maintain sterilization logs and quality assurance records.
• Interpret surgical schedule and respond to OR priorities.
• Track instruments and report replacements to maintain inventory.
• Operate sterilizers, washers and related equipment per policy.
• Adhere to infection control practices and use PPE.
• Rotate shifts and maintain professional appearance.
